“Even if you can't see it now, we're proud of what's to come, and you.”
An all-time favorite band of mine, Philly’s Modern Baseball burned bright for their relatively brief existence. Just four years separate debut LP Sports and de facto farewell Holy Ghost, yet their career includes three seminal modern emo albums and an EP some would argue is their most vital work.
As popular as they were (by the standards of their genre), it feels like the band’s legacy can continue growing as younger audiences discover the discography of ourth-wavee emo’s biggest act.
I can’t bear to cut down any more on this playlist, seeing as the band won’t be releasing additional music. Rather than a sampler, this is more like a career-spanning encapsulation of my can’t-miss MoBo tracks.
